Hi! , a warm welcome to my site
Finally a new phase of life is going to start for me. Yes, I am going to graduate this year!!. Time to get prepared for next phase of life.
The main reasons I got this site up were the following:
1. It is free.
You though that Microsoft was selling pricey software, so how come they can give out something free ? Now you Believe. I will say get one now!!
2. I like the domain name "limitingedge".
I am waiting for the day when we humans will set up colonies on Moon, Mars, Vikraman (Yes, I will buy a planet and name after myself) etc. I will go there and blog on LIMITINGEDGE.COM. Once my blog is popular i will auction my domain using Sotheby's premium auction services (Do they offer premium service ?).
3. I always wanted to write.
Since my childhood, I had a deep interest in books. I have read all the books that my dad had in his old trunk. Maya and India Today were my favorite. I still read raj comics. After coming to United States I have been a regular reader of Forbes. Recently i subscribed to Time magazine. You can guess now that i am an avid reader. IT, Politics, Business, Economics, Religion, Travel, Sports, and History are among my areas of interest. This will be a good place to start writing my thoughts.
4. To show my communication skills.
I believe that if you can write well, you can communicate well. After all writing is a way to communicate your ideas. Recently I have been applying to various It internship positions. All of them have at least one common requirement i.e. "Good Communication Skills". So my site will be a good source to show the recruiterst hat i have good communication skills. I never though that the tense that i learned in eighth grade will be so helpful in my career. I have always scored high marks in English. I think what i need further is "strong vocabUlury". Microsoft is already working hard to destroy my spelling capabilities (I still make a lot of spelling mistakes. But i am working on it). Mr. Nitesh will you like to give me a tuItion in vocablury building?
5. To land a job offer. (Most important reason right now)
As I have mentioned that I have started job search, I came across some companies who let you submit your URL link. I am not sure if they really go to the websites and check the candidates, but I thought it will be good to get myself ready. This site will serve as "First impression to hiring managers". Going though job search, I have learned that technical skills are not enough to get a good job these days. Economy is already in bad shape, so more competition. Companies want something "EXTRAORDINARY, SPECIAL, UNIQUE" in their employees. But how to show them that I do have something like this? Most of the time they just ask routine questions (I have now memorised most of them) and I may not get a chance to tell them all about myself. Now I can just put link to my site in "Thank You" emails so that if interviewers are still interested in me, they can know more about me.
